“Machinists” are science-minded people who see the world as a machine. All people, whatever their successes or failures, are seen as innocent products of past events. ETHICS OF LUCK
Those who understand that there is no free-will, accept that people will play the hand of cards that they were dealt. People dealt a good hand don’t deserve worship. People dealt a bad hand don’t deserve suffering. The challenge is to afford everybody an intrinsic value regardless of what they have or haven’t done in life. Passive pacifists are able to live lives of peace and nonviolence by avoiding conflict.
